Description

The FluxScout Smart Chamber system represents a new generation of field research instrumentation for monitoring CO₂, CH₄, and N₂O fluxes from soil and vegetation.
Its modular architecture enables one robotic and sensor unit to be used with multiple interchangeable chamber bodies of different diameters and materials — allowing researchers to adapt the system to the specific requirements of each study.

The robotic unit includes an automatic lid actuator, internal fan, environmental sensors, and smart power management. Chamber frames can be quickly exchanged between 300 mm and 500 mm versions, or between transparent, opaque, and diffused-light designs. This flexibility makes the Smart Chamber ideal for a wide range of applications, from soil respiration measurements to light-response and net ecosystem exchange (NEE) studies.

The system integrates directly with leading gas analyzers such as Gasmet, LI-COR, and Picarro, and also supports CO₂ diffusion sensor-based measurements for continuous soil respiration monitoring when analyzer use is not required.
Each cycle — measurement, flushing, and standby — is automatically controlled via the FluxScout Control module and synchronized with the analyzer and cloud services for real-time data access and visualization.
